Background
Chosen in 2020 as Tesla’s central-US vehicle plant as the company moved headquarters to Texas. Empty fields became one of Tesla’s largest hubs: Model Y, Cybertruck, and Cybercab lines, on-site battery work, and a campus that now also hosts energy storage, AI compute (Cortex), cathode production, a Cybertunnel under the highway, crash/test facilities, Optimus robotics, and early chip / advanced-tech site work — still expanding.
