Announced in 2018, Giga Shanghai went from empty Lingang land to a running car plant in under a year. Phase 1 built Model 3; 2020 added the 3A/3B halls and a Model Y line. The site is Tesla’s export hub for Asia and Europe. Weekly drone flights through 2023 document the steel, roofs, lots, and later rooftop solar — then local filming largely stopped.
